Busy Bariatrics Summer Camp has lived on Zoom for years, so we're taking it to the next level. Off screen and in person, run by the coaches that teach you every week, we're diving deep into every pillar of the B.U.S.Y.! Method.
We started Summer school to give you what a screen can't— a room filled with people who understand your season of life and appreciate how far you've come. This is the weekend the community learns in person.
Speaker Rob DiMedio
Create habits that last beyond weight loss
Rob shows you how to build a week that prioritizes and locks in your workouts, meals, and sleep before everyone else claims your time. You leave with a reliable calendar, a minimum standard for chaotic weeks, and a backup plan for the days that go sideways.
Speaker Stacy Ironfield
Understand your plate, how to track and when to swap
Stacy shows the simple ways to measure food, how pre-tracking works as a placeholder for your day, and how the two together let you swap in an equal food when you don't feel like eating what you planned. Food stops being a test you pass or fail. It becomes information you use.
LIVE DEMONSTRATION
Speaker Lisa Gittleman
Strength training to build the body you want after bariatric surgery
The scale tells you what you weigh. It says nothing about what you're made of. Lisa breaks down why lifting is your best protection for muscle after surgery or on a GLP-1, how progressive overload works, and how to fit training into your week at your current level. You leave knowing what to lift, how heavy to go, and how to tell you're progressing.
Speaker Ryan Kassim
Make room for yourself in the life you’re building
Most people show up for everyone except the person in the mirror. Ryan takes apart two habits: putting yourself last, and the perfectionism that turns one missed day into a lost month. Stumbling is part of the process. Quitting after the stumble is the real problem. You leave with a short list of non-negotiables that keep you in the game on your worst weeks.
Guest speaker: @bodybyryanfitness
Speaker Kylie Hansen
When emotions drive the bus: Pause, feel it, then decide
Stress, frustration, and even celebration all try to make decisions for you. Kylie teaches you to feel the full weight of an emotion without handing it the keys. You'll practice a simple pause-and-decide process for heated moments, so your choices line up with your goals and your growth.

Say what you are taking home, out loud, in front of people who will hold you to it. Then catch your flight home! Practice in real life what you learned from Summer School.
The McMenamins Kennedy School hotel was originally built in 1915 as a Portland neighborhood elementary school. With fun twists from sleeping in old classrooms, soaking in the heated pool, or grabbing a drink at a bar called Detention, Summer School deserved more than a boring conference room.

You want to go deeper into the B.U.S.Y.! Method, in person, with your coaches.
You are ready to spend a weekend on yourself without apologizing for it.
You are on a bariatric or GLP-1 journey and you want to be in a room where nobody needs it explained.
You want takeaways you use Monday morning, not motivation that fades by Tuesday.
You know this is harder alone, and you are ready to be around people who are in it with you.
You plan to sit in the back row and take notes. This class participates. Expect conversation, practice, and a goodbye circle where you talk.
You can't commit to the dates yet. All sales are final, so apply when you are ready to be in Portland.

Rob DiMedio has spent 20 years as a high school history teacher, so running a school day has become second nature. Having had bariatric surgery himself, he understands that having the knowledge and blueprint to progress after surgery is just one piece of achieving the goals you set for yourself.
He is NASM and NLCA certified, hosts The Busy Bariatrics Podcast, and has been the go-to fitness expert after bariatric surgery on the top shows in the industry. Rob has won Best Men's Fitness Account, Best Men's Overall Account, and the Body Positivity Award from Just Be You.
At Summer School, Rob is not flying in for a keynote presentation and a handshake. Rob and his team of coaches are there to connect and educate on a personal level, off screen.

Yes. You need to be an active client when you apply. The sessions build on the B.U.S.Y.! Method and assume you already have that foundation. If you graduate or finish coaching in good standing before July, your seat is still yours.
Twenty seats is a small class, and we want every one of them filled by someone ready to be in the room. The call is quick. It answers your travel and logistics questions and makes sure the weekend fits where you are right now.
Summer School runs July 16-18, 2027 at McMenamins Kennedy School in Portland, Oregon. The welcome reception starts Friday at 6:00 PM. Saturday is the full school day with proffee, all five sessions, lunch, and dinner out in Portland. Sunday is the group workout and goodbye circle before you head home. Session times go to confirmed attendees.
The recipes are built to be bariatric and GLP-1 friendly across the board.
No. Airfare and hotel are on you. We are setting up a room block at McMenamins Kennedy School, and the rate, booking link, and cutoff date will be shared as soon as it is live. Book early. Portland in July fills up.
If you purchase and pay for your ticket in full before 3/1, your price will be $750. If you either spread payments out beyond 3/1 or purchase your ticket after 3/1, the price will be $850.
Yes. Meals are planned around protein priorities and real post-op portions. For dinner out, we chose a spot with options that make sense for this community. Nobody will need to explain their order to a confused waiter.
Confirmed attendees get a prep packet covering what to bring, what to wear, and how to get the most out of the weekend. Your only job right now is to apply before the class fills.
Yes. Summer School debuts the new definition of the exclamation point pillar, Emotional Regulation, and brings in guest teacher Ryan Kassim of Body By Ryan. You will also learn it in person, which changes how you absorb it, practice it, and talk it through with people on the same road.
All sales are final, and there are no refunds—this is a premium, high-commitment experience with limited capacity.
Most of our clients already know more than they give themselves credit for. What they are missing is the in person connections, learning next to your coaches, eating dinner across from someone who understands you and your goals. Leaving Portland will have you knowing the WHY behind every part of the B.U.S.Y.! method. We do not sit in our issues. We clear the rubble and keep gettin' busy.
